Heart of Palms is a series involving a wealthy family that is unknowingly manipulated by a palm reader close to the family, who is in actuality only out to achieve her own goals at all costs. She has dedicated her life to a small religious sect that worships Eris, the goddess of chaos, in order to demonstrate the superiority of the religion over common mainstream religions. In order to reach her goals, this family and those associated with them will naively become pawns in her game, altering their lives out of a whirlwind of chaos, danger, and malice. Previously… Cole devised a plan to fix things with Maya’s father and sets off to put his plan into action.

Episode 15

Cole approached the home of Maya’s father filled with nervousness. First, he scaled the security wall and from the top of the wall he was able to pull out a stun gun to momentarily paralyze the two ferocious guard dogs below. It was just long enough for him to climb up a trellis on the side of the house to a small alcove. There was a window just barely big enough for him to fit through. From this alcove, he could disable the alarm sensor on the window out of sight, in order to get inside.

Maya had helped him get to know the property and study the layout of the house including where the security cameras were and the guards’ locations at different times during the day. He had put together a plan to get into the house and to the office without being detected. Her father stuck to the same routine every day. He rarely strayed from this regimen so it was easy to predict where he would be and what he would be doing. The plan was to catch him off guard in his office to initiate a simple conversation.

He knew he would need to get his attention right away and the only way to do that would be to declare that there was an emergency. He was going to tell her father that the baby suffered from a rare blood disease and may die. He would explain that they needed as many family members as possible to be available for potential blood donations and possibly bone marrow. That way, he wouldn’t be able to kill Cole just yet. Once he met his grandson and was reunited with Maya, his feelings would have to change. He would have to accept them all together. There would be some details to work out but he was confident that If he could see just how happy Maya was, he would surely give them his blessings and they could all live happily ever after. At least that’s how it was supposed to go.

As Cole prepared to make his way into the house he saw her father walking out of the back door and towards the detached part of the garage. He went inside and then all of the sudden there was an explosion. The whole garage had blown up creating an enormous fire. Cole was stunned as he couldn’t believe what he had just seen. Thoughts went racing through his head. If anyone had seen him there, he would surely be blamed for his death. He had to be extra careful to leave without a trace before other people arrived. The guards he thought would be distracted so he might just have time to slip away. But if they were running towards the garage, they might see him.
