Previously… Lily and Damen were at a wedding when Lily started to feel overwhelmed with the drama. She asked to go home and Damen agreed. While Lily and Damen were walking to the car, a stranger, Nicholas Tazmen, returned Lily’s purse, and Lily got a scary feeling from him, which left her feeling sick. Three days later, Lily was drinking coffee at a cafe when she saw Nicholas. He sat down with her and told her he was happy to see her again, but Lily was not. She tried to find any reason to leave. Readers voted her to have her spill coffee on herself.

Episode 10

Lily ran through every scenario in her head on how to leave without seeming too rude. Everything she thought of, though, was not good enough. Quietly, she started to panic, thinking she would not get away from his intense gaze.

“Is something wrong? You look a little flushed. Are you still not feeling well?”

Lily took a deep breath.

“I thought maybe I was over it, but it seems to be coming and going.”

Nicholas smiled. “I know a great home remedy for that. But that would require you to come over to my house.”

Lily was shocked. Did he just invite me to his house? He doesn’t even know me?

He reached his hand over to Lily’s. Her body reacted on its own and jumped, causing her to spill her coffee all over her pant leg. Quickly, she stood up, and Nicholas did the same.

“Oh no. Was that my fault? I am terribly sorry.”

“It’s okay. I’ll be all right. No harm, no foul.” Lily tried to assure him, as he came even closer to her. Lily slightly backed away.

“I’m sorry, but I have to go home and change. I hope you have a good day.”

She closed up her laptop, put it in its bag, and slung it over her shoulder. Nicholas stood in her way.

“You should let me take care of that. It was my fault anyway.” His smile made Lily feel cold. She tried with all her might to return one, but it turned out awkward.

“No thank you. I have clothes at home, and I wouldn’t feel right having you clothe me. But I really must be going, so goodbye.”

Nicholas moved to the side for her and shrugged his shoulders as Lily moved past him. Just as she was about to leave, he called to her. She turned around reluctantly. He was smiling again and his eyes stared straight at her.

“I know I’ll see you again. Today was a proven fact that our destinies are intertwined. So until we meet again.”

Lily turned around and put a pep in her step as she walked to her car. When she got home and changed her clothes, all she could think about was Nicholas and the feeling he gave her. She had never felt this before and had no idea why he was the only one that gave her this feeling. Then she thought about Damen and the feeling he gave her. It was not the same. Damen made her feel warm and shy while Nicholas made her feel cold and scared.

Great. This job is just full of surprises. Interrupting her thoughts, the phone rang and made her jump. The number was private. She normally didn’t answer private numbers, but something in her gut told her to answer it. WIN $50 Amazon gift certificates by voting WEEKLY! Enter your address each time to be eligible to win. Vote below on what will happen next or if reading by email click view poll.
